International Charity Day

Posted on September 2024

imanges for all the charities

Giving back has always been a cornerstone of our business, and we are proud to continue this tradition with our Annual Charity Day tomorrow. Since our establishment, we’ve made it our mission to contribute positively to the communities in which we live and work.

This year, each office has selected a charity to support, either for their impactful work in the surrounding community or based on employee advocacy for causes close to their hearts. We are excited to come together and make a meaningful contribution to these worthy organisations:

Lifeshare

Lifeshare is Manchester’s oldest charity dedicated to providing essential services to people experiencing homelessness and poverty. The charity has pioneered the development of new initiatives such as rent deposit schemes, sexual health and drug awareness that are now widely spread.

Their institutional status in Manchester has been gained not just through the longstanding and valued services we have offered but also by our instrumental role in the establishment of a number of vital organisations in the sector such as the Booth Centre and the Big Issue Up North.

Bristol Dementia Action Alliance

BDAA are a non-profit making, community-based project, mostly resourced by volunteers.

They are also part of an “Alliance” of similar groups throughout the UK, working towards enabling their communities to become more dementia aware.

They operate on the generosity of sponsors, donations and goodwill.

Mitchell’s Miracles

Mitchell’s Miracles was founded by the parents of Mitchell after he gained his angel wings on 25th August 2012, aged just 7. His journey with Neuroblastoma, and his bravery, compelled them to open this children’s cancer charity in Romford helped by other local supporters.

Mitchell’s Miracles was founded in 2013 with two intentions in mind.

  • One: to raise awareness of childhood cancer Neuroblastoma in the UK

  • Two: to support families (both emotionally and financially) with children having treatment of this condition.

St Richard’s Hospice

St Richard’s offers free, expert care and support for adults with an illness that cannot be cured, their loved ones and carers.

St Richard’s is an independent registered charity. The majority of income is from public donations, including gifts in Wills, one-off or regular donations, fundraising events and personal challenges, trading, legacies and grants from trusts and business sponsorship. Approximately a quarter of income is funded from the NHS.

FACES

FACES (Family and Children's Early-help Services) is a well established local independent charity offering practical and emotional support to families under stress.

FACES supports local children and families faced with difficult issues such as mental and physical health, domestic abuse, poverty, child sexual exploitation and behavioural issues via a range of quality-tested

services and family support groups, many led by the team of dedicated volunteers. We do this by recruiting and training volunteers who work alongside our family support practitioners to deliver a unique menu of tailored services directly to a family, in their own home.
