Locum Adult Social Care & Education Lawyer – 3 months + - Remote Working – Up to £55-60 per hour umbrella – Midlands
Position: Locum Adult Social Care & Education Lawyer
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3-month initial contract with the likelihood of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Ideally full time however candidates with part time availability possessing relevant experience will also be considered
Working Arrangement: Fully remote working including remote advocacy
Hourly Rate: £55-£60 per hour Umbrella
The successful candidate will be a Solicitor or Barrister with prior experience working within Local Government carrying a full and varied caseload of Adult Social Care and Education matters. However, the Local Authority are open to considering candidates who would like to assist in either solely Education or solely Adult Social Care Law.
Duties may include:
• Provide Adult Social Care Law and Education Law advice, and additional legal advice on areas including children social care (not care proceedings) and health as required
• Ensure that the decisions made by the client departments are within the legal boundaries; accord with Council policy; and achieve their aims and objectives efficiently
• Maintain an awareness of all relevant legislation, policy and regulations, investigate and advise on implications of changing legislation, case law and codes of practice and policy and provide training where necessary
• Participate in any other areas of work in the Legal Services Department when required to do so by the Principal Solicitor (Adults, Children and Health) within whose Team they are located
