Interim Building Control Surveyor
Location: London, hybrid 2 days on site
Length: 3 months (Possibility of extension)
IR35 Status: Inside
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Building Control Surveyor:
- Review plans for a diverse range of construction projects
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations
- Provide Building Control advice through various channels (phone, email, in person)
- Inspect dangerous structures during regular working hours
- Participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and correspondence
- Support the training of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors
- Assist the Principal Surveyor and Head of Building Control with additional team duties
Key Skills required of the Interim Building Control Surveyor:
- Degree in construction or equivalent qualification, preferably with a Band C Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR) qualification
- Full corporate membership status with a recognized professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB
- Minimum of seven years' experience in Building Control
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Eagerness to learn and develop both soft and technical skills
- Strong team player with a sense of responsibility
