Childcare Lawyer

Locum Childcare Lawyer - Remote Working – Full Time – Initially 3 months

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a busy Local Authority, who are known for their excellent quality of work, who are recruiting for a Locum Childcare Lawyer to join their department, an experienced solicitor or barrister.

This is a full-time assignment (35 hours), with the initial period 3 months and then a possibility to extend.

The successful candidate will be required to work from home as well work in-office and go to Court on occasion when required. The postholder will be provided with a laptop to allow for remote working which will need to be collected in person.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake advocacy work
• Provide expert legal advice to the Local Authority.

The successful candidate will be Managing a varied and interesting childcare caseload consisting of both pre-proceedings and advocacy matters.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Childcare Lawyer to become part of a hugely successful and progressive Local Authority. The successful Childcare lawyer will be taking on a caseload of 10-12 cases and a couple of pre-proceedings cases.

The successful applicant will have a hard-working manner and progressive approach to legal services, as well as excellent technical skills.

The ideal candidate will will be passionate about working as part of an in-house team that delivers timely, clear and effective legal advice, representation and assistance to the Local Authority. They will have experience of advocacy and alongside this, they will hold a quality caseload of child protection cases.
