Commercial Contracts Solicitor (1.5 days per week)

Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer – East Midlands – initial 6 Months+ – Remote Working – Up to £60 per hour Umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a reputable Local Authority in the East Midlands area who are recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their department.

This assignment is offered on a part-time basis however candidates possessing relevant experience.

The contract is for an initial period of 3 months and will be worked on a fully remote basis. This opportunity is suitable for an experienced Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within Local Government and can effectively manage a fast-paced and varied caseload.

Daily duties may include:

• Negotiating and advising on contractual agreements and settlements alongside handling both procurement and construction matters
• Advising various parties on behalf of the Council’s clients, including charities, companies and members and officers of the Council Reviewing and amending in-house standard commercial documents
• Providing legal advice predominantly surrounding matters of procurement, contracts, partnerships, JCT and NEC agreements alongside more general commercial and contractual work
• Advising on g-cloud contracts, inter-authority agreements, partnerships and subsidy control agreements
• Advising and drafting on a wide range of contracts for services, supplies and works in context of ongoing procurement exercises

The role is offering an attractive rate of up to £60 per hour umbrella dependent upon experience.
