Based in London, 3 days per week in the office (including Mondays)
Permanent Contract – £85,390

An East London Borough is looking to recruit a newly created strategic role; Head of Safeguarding, Quality Assurance and Improvement, into their established Adults Social Care Operational Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to shape and influence practice as well as champion new ideas and ways of thinking.
Key Responsibilities of the Head of Safeguarding, Quality Assurance and Improvement:
- Lead the shaping and implementation of a strategic framework for policy, service development, strategic safeguarding and quality assurance
- Ensure the Quality Assurance Framework informs data led improvements and decisions making to internal audit activity and care reviews
- Lead improvements in outcomes in Adult Social Care and the wider Safeguarding Partnership
- Lead on the professional development of social workers, ensuring that staff recruitment and retention are effective and appropriate for students
- Provide strategic leadership and management of policy and practice, directing the team across Adult Social Care to promote understanding and commitment to practice and quality assurance, in order to achieve the delivery of effective, person-centred and legally compliant services
- Head up a service of practice leads who are responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures
- Manage the development of all aspects of strategic safeguarding and quality assurance, ensuring that government and departmental policies on safeguarding are effectively implemented and that Borough is compliant with its statutory duties
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Head of Safeguarding, Quality Assurance and Improvement:
- Must be Social Work qualified, having previously led and managed Adults Social Care teams at Principal Social Work / Service Manager level
- Knowledge and experience of Assistive Technology, Commissioning and Adult’s service to improve outcomes
- Able to work at pace and juggle multiple priorities
- Ideally have both operational and strategic experience within the safeguarding arena
