A well-known Public Services Organisation that has over 1 million members is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join on a contract basis. The post holder will be reporting to the Head of HR and will be providing expert advice to Senior Management on health and safety policies and procedures.
Your duties will include:
- Advising Senior Management responsible for staff health and safety
- Advising regional managers on the implementation of the Company’s health and safety policies, procedures and practices
- Consulting with the relevant external bodies regarding health and safety
- Developing and updating the Company staff health and safety policies
- Drafting policy and procedures documents for approval and implementation by Senior Management
- Management of staff risk assessments and implementation of any outcomes
- Overseeing all accident reporting via an online system
- Management of health and safety related surveys and implementation of any agreed improvement plans
- Managing the allocated budget for Staff Health and Safety
- Implementing any agreed well-being strategies and initiatives alongside the relevant HR Officer
- Carry out any other health and safety duties as directed by the Head of HR
Candidate profile:
- At least 3 years experience in a similar Heath and Safety role
- NEBOSH general certificate in occupational health and safety
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Length: 3 months with chance to extend
Day Rate: £250 - £300 per day
Hours: 35 per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2/3 days per week on site
