Locum Housing Litigation Legal Assistant - Full Time - Hybrid Working - up to £18 per hour Umbrella - Midlands
 
Position: Locum Housing Litigation Legal Assistant
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 12 months initial contract pending further extension

Working Hours: Ideally Full Time but Part Time candidates (4 days per week) may still be considered who possess the relevant experience
Working Arrangement: Hybrid Working – attending the office on a 1-2 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely thereafter
Hourly Rate: £18 per hour Umbrella dependent on experience
 

The ideal candidate for this role would be a Law Graduate who is looking to gain further experience within Local Government. Previous experience within Housing Litigation either in Local Government or Private Practice is essential for the role. Previous experience using IKEN Case Management System is preferred but not essential.

Duties may include:
•              Supporting the Housing Litigation Solicitors with drafting court applications and documents

•              Opening new Iken files for Housing Disrepair claims and undertaking the initial steps including and not limited to: reply to claimant Solicitor, instruct Surveyor, request disclosure document from client dept, prepare disclosure document.

•              Preparing, revising, and finalising documents/court hearing bundles/reports

•              Holding a limited caseload of Housing Disrepair files

•              Undertaking evaluation and assessment on liability and quantum on Housing Disrepair claims

This position has an attractive rate up to £18 per hour Umbrella dependent on experience.
