Neighbourhood Officer (Field Based)

Day To Day responsibilities include:
- Deliver a proactive face-to-face tenancy management service to our customers at key stages of their tenancy such as viewings, new tenancy visits, tenancy audits, end of tenancy visits and property inspections for mutual exchanges and transfers
- Complete home visits responding to ad-hoc tenancy enquiries and breaches of tenancy including tenancy fraud, unauthorised alterations and property related nuisance reports such as noise, garden and vehicle nuisance
- Support other key teams to deliver services when access is a challenge to carryout health and safety repairs and compliance related services.
- Complete property inspections as part of a targeted programme ensuring the home meets our standard and that it is safe and suitable for the customer
- Work with customers where property condition failures are identified and agree achievable action plans.
- Identify support needs and offer information, guidance, and signpost to appropriate statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure our customers can sustain their tenancy and look after the home
- Complete regular inspections to our neighbourhoods and blocks of flats taking actions to deal with environmental nuisance and reporting repairs to make sure they are safe and clean
- Take part in customer and community building events with other Abri colleagues
- Ensure you are up to date with policies and procedures,
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal departments and other external agencies to ensure that we are working towards outcomes that support tenancy sustainment, create neighbourhoods where people want to live and enhance the service
- Safeguard vulnerable adults and children by escalating through the appropriate channels and represent housing in appropriate multi-agency meetings
- Ensure services are delivered in line with key performance indicators
- Provide cover to colleagues in the office team when required.
- Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested
Essential Criteria Include:
- This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends.
- Flexibility to travel as part of managing a patch and across the zones when cover is required
- Driving licence and own transport.
- Confident to work alone in the field for extended periods of time with an awareness of their personal wellbeing.
