A large Public Sector organisation in London are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to start on an interim basis that turns into a permanent contract. The successful candidate will have strong technical payroll experience and stakeholder management exposure. This role will be dealing with payroll changes and queries as well as ensuring reporting and record keeping is acurate.
Rate: £240 - £260 a day
Contract length: Tempoary to permanent
Location: 1 day a week on site in Central London
Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week
Essential criteria:
- Public Sector experience
- Managing a Payroll of over 500 employees
- Working with outsourced payroll providers
- Managing a team of at least 2 members of staff
Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing and directing the delivery of the payroll function
- Resolving issues and responding to payroll-related queries
- Responsible for leading and managing the payroll services team
- Overseeing processes of payroll changes (e.g. new starters, terminations and other ad-hoc lifecycle employees changes)
- Liaising with auditors and other stakeholders alongside managing payroll related audits
- Experience of recruitment, training, supporting and monitoring performance would be advantageous
