Procurement and Commercial Lawyer
Our client, a prominent public body with headquarters in Leeds, is seeking a Procurement and Commercial Lawyer on a permanent, hybrid-working basis.
About the role
In this post you will be responsible for:
- Drafting high value/risk and complex commercial contract documentation and agreements relating to procurements for goods and services
- Providing advice and assistance in relation to contract disputes and dispute resolution
- Advising on the implementation and interpretation of Public Procurement Regulations, the organisation’s standing orders and tender procedures
- Negotiate and review complex high value/risk level documentation and provide advice to a range of stakeholders in relation to the same, using initiative and judgement
- Demonstrating commercial acumen and an understanding of the business when advising and negotiating on its behalf
- Analysing situations, applying knowledge and expertise to undertake negotiations or guide decision making based on options and implications.
About you
To be successful in this post you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister entitled to hold a practising certificate or full CILEX (Fellowship) qualification with recent post-qualification experience, ideally in a public sector organisation.
- Possess significant experience with Commercial Contracts Law
- Have excellent analytical skills, initiative, and sound judgement to provide solution focussed advice
- Ability to develop positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
