Job Title: Locum Commercial Property Team Leader

Location: Home Counties based Local Authority 
Rate: Up to £65 per hour Umbrella
Working Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week), remote working

Venn Group’s specialised legal team are in collaboration with a Local Authority based in the Home Counties in their search for an experienced Locum Commercial Property Team Leader.  This is a full time position where you will be the Principal Legal Advisor to the Council and within the Property Team. There may also be some assistance with the Major Projects Team.

Duties include:

• Dealing with deal with all land transactions, ensuring a satisfactory outcome for the Council
• Drafting, preparing, and ensuring completion of leases and licences of industrial and Commercial premises to ensure the interests of the Council are protected both financially and commercially, including drafting documentation without precedents if necessary
• Drafting and preparing and ensure completion of all legal documentation relating to sales and purchases of land and to ensure completion of the same including drafting documentation without precedents if necessary
• Undertaking due diligence work and the drafting of any transactional documents in relation to residential and other properties for the purposes of the Council
• Assisting, mentoring, and leading junior members of the team to enable them to progress in both knowledge and experience in all aspects of property law
• Maintaining a record of all training and development undertaken in accordance with the requirements of your professional body
• Providing legal advice to the Council, the Cabinet, committees, sub committees, panels and working groups; including the obtaining of external legal advice and opinion, where appropriate
