We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual to join our hard working team who is responsible for the validation of patient pathways to support the delivery of the 18 Week Referral to Treatment (RTT) standard.
The post holder will directly contribute towards the Trusts elective performance by getting patients through their elective pathway with minimal delays.
The post holder is responsible for effectively co-ordinating the tracking of the administrative pathway using the Trust PTL (patient tracking list) software, ensuring that all steps on the patient pathway are booked and recorded appropriately, in a timely manner. The post holder will use their own judgement and analytical skills to ensure patients pathways & ‘clocks’ are stopped and started correctly to ensure patient waiting times are recorded correctly. The post holder will develop a thorough understanding of the national rules for RTT.
Please note this job is primarily office based
As part of this role, a general understanding of the patient journey throughout the hospital is required as you will be tracking patients throughout their journey from referral to treatment ensuring their appointments, diagnostic tests any another activity is booked in a timely manner. To support this, you will develop relationships with a range of departments Trust wide, work to motivate staff to achieve objectives and prevent breaches by working together in order to efficiently progress patients on their pathways. This is an exciting opportunity as in this role there is opportunity to identify areas for service improvement to streamline all steps of the patient pathway and improve quality and timelines of patient care.
This role involves reading confidential information and working in a busy, fast paced environment. You must have good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, and experience working with hospital patient systems (Lorenzo a real plus). You must have excellent attention to detail and demonstrate ability to reliably check and record data. You will have ability to work as both part of a team and independently. A basic knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
