Accounts Assistant
A position has arisen for an Accounts Assistant in Cambridge. This is a full-time temporary position for 4 to 5 months.
The position assists in the administration of accounts and maintain financial records within the Department in order to contribute to the management of Departmental finances.
Responsibilities:
- Administer accounts payable and receivable: Process invoices, liaise with stakeholders, manage customer details, and oversee purchase orders
- Manage petty cash: Process claims, perform reconciliations, and monitor transactions for discrepancies
- Perform general administrative tasks: Maintain filing systems, assist with asset register, and improve processes.
- Support financial reporting: Assist with month-end and year-end accounts, run reports, and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Handle accounting inquiries: Serve as a contact point, respond to queries, and provide financial process guidance.
- Oversee grant administration: Manage grant database entries, address expenditure queries, and generate reports for stakeholders.
Criteria:
- Experience in a similar accounts role
- Experience using Finance/Accounting systems
