We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Facilities Manager for a large public sector organisation in Manchester.

Duties will include:

• Manage the FM teams through the effective use of staff development and staff management tools to ensure University operational requirements are met and that high standards of customer service are delivered
• Ensure equipment, consumables and stock control are operated effectively and efficiently, ensuring that financial and procurement regulations are adhered to
• Ensure all service specific KPI's are actively managed and monitored to ensure year on year positve trends, identify areas for concern and put remedial actions inplace
• Ensure all periodic compliance tests which are the responsibility of FM are carried out according to the required protocols in a timely fashion, with the results recorded appropriately, to ensure the University remains legislatively compliant at all times. Where there are issues to escalate these immediately to the FM or the Deputy Head \ Head of FM.
• Assist the Facilities Manager in ensuring defects in relation to equipment and buildings are reported and actioned. To ensure a monthly building inspection regime is implemented and recorded for the roleholders area of responsibility.
• Responsible for a team of up to 8 Duty Managers, ensuring work processes are being implemented

Essential skills/qualifications:

• Relevant professional or vocational qualification or significant experential learning

Desirable qualifications:

• British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) Level 5 qualification is desirable
• Appropriate IOSH / NeBOSH managing safely qualification.
