Complex Case Coordinator – Private Sector Housing
Duration: 6 month rolling contract, likely extensions available
Rate: £39.95 per hour Umbrella (Inside IR35)

This role will be Hybrid Working - West Midlands Based
Our client is looking for a Complex Case Coordinator who can join their team on an interim basis for the next six months. The successful candidate will undertake all duties associated with identifying unlicenced properties and robustly pursue those landlords reluctant to engage with mandatory and discretionary property licensing requirement.

Responsibilities:
- Lead on delivering both simple and more complex enforcement cases related to housing standards, property licensing, and anti-social behaviour, in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures
- Remove Category 1 and High Category hazards
- Ensure licence conditions are complied with
- Apply Management Regulation of requirement in HMO
- Take a lead role in enforcement in particular, the Issuing of Community Protection Notices (CPN) under the Housing & Planning Act 2016 and prosecution of landlords in line with the Regulation and Enforcement policy
- Take a lead in multi-agency action to reduce ASB emanating from Privately Rented Properties (PRP)
- Take a lead role in coaching and mentoring Compliance Officers to develop their skills, knowledge and experience
Requirements:
- Evidence of attainment of Level 6 Qualifications in a relevant subject area OR In-depth working knowledge and experience of the Private Rented Sector Housing Standards enforcement
- Practical experience in the application and use of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System
- Practical experience in the enforcement of legislation including general housing, environmental protection and public health
- An excellent understanding of anti-social behaviour and experience of managing and resolving anti-social behaviour within a local authority or similar environment
- Experience in investigations and conducting interviews in accordance with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act
- Experience of working with a range of partners to achieve successful outcomes
- Experience of managing conflict and dealing with disputes
- Experience of successful case management with positive outcomes
- An appreciation of wider housing issues
