Content Designer (Learning & Development)
Start Date: October/November 2025
Rate: £280 to £325 per day – Negotiable based on experience
Duration: 6 months initially (likely to extend)
Hours: Full time, Monday – Friday
Working Pattern: Predominately remote working
Our client is seeking a skilled and creative Content Designer to join their Talent, Learning & Early Careers division within People Services. You will play a pivotal role in transforming training content, leading the design of outcome-driven, user-centered learning experiences for our internal teams. Working closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts, you will help shape and implement content strategies that support a continuous learning culture within the Council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead content strategy, creating and refining learning content throughout the user journey
- Lead content design efforts across multiple product teams, ensuring cohesive learning experiences across channels
- Create and iterate on training materials, including videos, gamified learning, websites, and interactive content
- Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to co-create engaging, multimedia content
- Analyse user data, feedback, and research to drive content improvements and user-focused solutions
- Review existing learning content, offering recommendations and leading content design critiques and workshops
- Create and implement a content style guide to ensure consistency across the councils learning and development efforts
- Mentor junior team members to foster growth and high performance within the team
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in content design, ideally within learning and development or a similar field
- A strong ability to develop and implement content strategies that are aligned with business goals
- Expertise in creating diverse types of content, including digital, multimedia, and interactive formats
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
- Experience with user research, data analytics, and content planning
- Passion for creating innovative, user-centered training solutions
