With a £2.2Bn capital transport investment programme, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of urban transport in the region.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Overseeing Major Projects: Lead the development and construction of significant road and light rail infrastructure projects with an annual delivery spend of £200m.
- Collaborative Work: Partner with local authorities, funding bodies, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and governance.
- Technical Expertise: Provide top-tier technical input across light railway systems, from trackform and alignment to signalling and traction power.
- Commercial Acumen: Apply value engineering techniques to optimize project affordability and utility, managing budgets and financial administration with precision.
Current Opportunities:
- Depot Expansion: Drive the complex expansion of a key depot, including new signalling and controls. Manage both design and contractor interfaces, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
- Traction Power: Lead the upgrade of substations powering trams, collaborating with the National Grid. Ideal for civil engineers with electrical expertise, this role offers a unique blend of rail and power systems management.
- Line Renewal: Oversee the replacement of existing assets, focusing on commercial contract project management. This role is perfect for engineers looking to enhance their skills in a high-impact environment.
What You Bring:
- Civil Engineering Background: Experience in delivering complex engineering projects, preferably within a rail or light rail environment.
- Strong Technical Knowledge: Including knowledge of NEC contracts
- Excellent Communication Skills: Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and collaborate effectively within a matrix structure.
