Head of Electrical Engineering

Our client is currently recruiting for a Head of Electrical Engineering on a permanent basis.

As a successful candidate it is essential you will hold Chartered Engineer status with the Engineering Council, and full membership of the IET / CIBSE.  It is also essential that you have an appropriate academic qualification to degree level in an electrical or building services engineering related discipline.

The role will consist of the following duties:

-          Effectively direct and manage all resources to meet the requirements of the Directorate

-          Manage a team of electrical engineers and inspectors in the development and monitoring of cost effective electrical PPM and inspection schemes

-          Establish and maintain standard specifications for both new installations, maintenance activities and SSoW, as appropriate.

-          Design and implement policy that ensures electrical maintenance is carried out in a manner that meets legislative requirements, statutory/safety requirements and good practice

The successful candidate must be highly proficient in:

•             The Electricity at work Regulations.

•             The IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671.

•             Electrical Engineering strategies.

•             Managing large estates and infrastructure.

Must have working knowledge of: -

•             Health & Safety legislation

•             Contractual practices and procedures

•             People and organisational development management.

The successful candidate must have experience in an electrical engineering management as well as experience of managing and controlling budgets/resources/funding.
