Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer

Up to £50 per hour umbrella (dependent on experience)

Local Authority based in South-East England

6 months initially with the possibility of an extension thereafter

Full time, Hybrid Working

Venn Group is working with a fantastic local authority in South-East England in their search for a Housing Disrepair Lawyer on an Locum basis for an initial 6-month role (with the potential to be extended)

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or legal executive with strong expertise in housing disrepair matters
• Strong negotiation skills and experience handling disrepair claims
• Proven ability to draft legal documents and represent clients in court
• Ability to manage a full caseload whilst maintaining attention to detail

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing legal advice and representation on housing disrepair claims
• Managing a caseload of housing disrepair matters, including tenant claims for repairs, compensation, and rent rebates
• Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as letters before action, claim forms, and witness statements
• Negotiating settlements with landlords and housing associations on behalf of tenants
• Conducting investigations and gathering evidence, including expert reports on disrepair issues
• Representing clients at court hearings and tribunal proceedings
