Warwickshire Legal Services seek to recruit a Planning and Highways Lawyer to join their award-winning in-house legal team and provide expert advice and guidance on a broad range of planning and enforcement matters.

At Warwickshire Legal Services, we run a very different kind of in-house legal team. We have the freedom to practice as a business within Warwickshire County Council, generating our own income from internal teams and a diverse pool of public sector clients.
We have pioneered a system of agile working which provides our lawyers with the opportunity to work within the office environment and remotely. Our positions are full time at 37 hours per week, but we are also open to part-time working.

The team is currently made up from lawyers from the public sector, private sector and home-grown talent and we would welcome applicants from a range of legal backgrounds including lawyers who are interested in beginning a new career in local government.
Responsibilities
- Work on a variety of planning and highways related matters, including legal support on major developments
- Draft and negotiate all types of planning and highways agreements, advising the Council’s planning and highways Officers and Members on general planning law
- Advise committees and advise on planning enforcement
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and best practices in planning law

Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of three years PQE
- Experience of drafting s106 agreements, advising on planning enforcement and planning issues generally
