Principal Advocate – Adult & Deputy Legal Service Manager

We currently have several exciting permanent opportunities within our Legal Services department. One of these opportunities is a Principal Advocate for Adult and Education. This is a senior post which will also see you deputising for the Legal Services Manager – Safeguarding & Education.
As Principal Advocate, you will take the lead on all aspects of advocacy legal work relating to Adults Social Services. This may include advice on all aspects of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, deprivation of liberty safeguards and Court of Protection proceedings.

Responsibilities
- Act as the principal advocate for Adults Social Care
- Advise clients on the legal aspects of Adult Social Services
- Deputise for Legal Services Manager – Safeguarding and Education in their absence
- Attend and Committees, bodies or panels as may be required
- Act as a mediator on arbitrations matters for internal and external clients
- Advice and support in relation to inquests, no recourse to public funds, human rights assessments, end of life procedures, Social Care Complaints Panels.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister
- Minimum of four years post qualification experience
- Willing to conduct advocacy
