Procurement Category Manager - Banking
Venn Group are currently working with a major bank in London that are looking for multiple procurement professionals to join their team on a contract basis. This hybrid position operates in a remote work environment, using Coupa technology for Procure-to-Pay and Source-to-Contract processes.
Role Overview:
As a Category Manager for HR, Professional Services (PS), IT and Legal, your primary responsibility is to provide category management support and supplier relationship management, ensuring that our organization optimizes its third-party spend and achieves savings. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders globally and regionally, aligning requirements and standardizing processes to leverage global spend volumes where appropriate. This role is instrumental in driving efficiencies, enhancing service quality, and improving process efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a procurement business partner, building and maintaining strong relationships with the business to position the category management team as a clear benefit.
- Analyze spend data to identify and validate savings opportunities within the HR, PS, and Legal categories.
- Conduct supplier market analysis and lead Request for Proposals (RFPs) for designated spend categories and identified savings opportunities.
- Support commercial negotiations and contract administration for managed contracts within the category, ensuring alignment with business requirements and contracting policies.
- Proactively manage supplier relationships in line with Procurement policy and governance forums, identifying opportunities for innovation, growth, and cost reduction.
- Support ad hoc procurement requirements as assigned, collaborating closely with procurement colleagues.
- Be prepared to be hands-on in all aspects of procurement to ensure operational success.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent knowledge and experience in HR, IT, Market Data, and Legal procurement.
- Previous experience working within Banking/Financial Services is favourable.
- Detailed understanding of key suppliers and supply market dynamics within the designated category.
- Adaptability to work with colleagues, stakeholders, and supply partners across different cultures.
- Proficiency in running tender processes.
- Contract management expertise to ensure performance targets are met.
- Proactive, organized, and excellent time management skills.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and persuasive communication abilities.
- Familiarity with Procurement Source-to-Pay technology solutions/systems, with Coupa experience as a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including data analysis using Excel.
- Ability to perform business process and impact analysis.
