Procurement Category Officer (x2)
Based in London, hybrid working, 1 days on site
The Procurement Officers will be responsible for leading, shaping and steering the delivery
of procurement projects from conception to completion across either the Constructions & FM or Corporate Directorates, of this London Borough.
Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Officer(s):
- Provide hands on procurement support and expert advice into delivering tendering projects and the overall procurement programme
- Contribute significant contemporary best practice, strategic procurement and commercial expertise, and contract management expertise to both strategic and operational activity and delivery
- To engage with senior stakeholders across the whole organisation including corporate directors, directors and heads of service
- Deliver high quality procurement advice, support and expertise to procurement projects and categories and responsibility for the delivery of corporate agendas and priorities through procurement
- To carry out placement of contract notices in the press and the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) as required
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Procurement Officer(s):
- Hands on experience of delivering expert procurement support and advice and project managing a range of tendering projects in a local government environment
- Up to date knowledge and practical knowledge and application of the legislative and regulatory framework which applies to procurement within the Public Sector
- Proven experience of successfully managing, monitoring and reporting on large and varied budgets
- A ‘Can do’ attitude - able to work positively in a team environment, develop effective partnerships and jointly work with both with internal and external stakeholder to deliver positive solutions
