Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Fire Officer on a permanent basis.
As a successful candidate it is essential you will hold a relevant Fire Safety qualification and have experience working in a development/fire prevention role in the Fire Service.
The role will consist of the following duties:
- Advising and assisting University staff and tenants to comply with the statutory requirements of fire safety.
- Maintaining appropriate liaison with Local Authority and GMFRS personnel to ensure that all statutory requirements for University premises are maintained and updated as appropriate
- Providing advice to both internal and external design teams on the planning and safe execution of fire safety measures for building and engineering development projects
- Working with the Principal Building Surveyor and other colleagues to develop fire strategies for buildings, physical fire precautions and automatic fire detection systems
Desirable Requirements:
- Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE)
- Health and Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Certificate)
The successful candidate must have relevant knowledge and skills through working experience in the provision of fire advice on development work and maintenance work.
