Venn Group are partnered with a leading private healthcare client who are looking to hire Senior Management Accountant to join their team.
Role: Senior Management Accountant
Salary: £60,000 - £68,000 pa
Location: North London (3 days on site)
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and ICAEW-qualified Senior Management Accountant as we embark on an exciting growth journey. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller (GFC), this role will build key relationships with finance and non-finance teams at all levels, providing critical management information and analysis to support performance and commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Management Accounts: Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial information, and KPIs at a regional level, with support from the transactional finance team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with regional operations teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data and provide insightful information and analysis.
- Reporting and Analysis: Present meaningful insights and analysis during regular monthly performance reviews, including variance analysis against budgets and previous years, trends, and detailed commentary.
- Support and Education: Educate and support home managers on controllable P&L drivers and KPIs to drive performance.
- Field Presence: Maintain a regular financial presence in the field to audit, train, and work with senior operations teams.
- Governance: Ensure robust governance and control over client funds and cash management at homes.
- Financial Strategy: Challenge financial data and develop strategies to achieve regional and home-level EBITDA targets.
- Ownership: Take responsibility for regional/entity-level financial accounts, including Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- System Utilization: Utilize finance and operational systems to optimize data output and identify trends.
- Project Support: Assist the GFC with financial projects, including the implementation of new systems and best practices.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the Commercial Finance Manager to ensure consistent information for budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A processes.
- Audit Support: Support the Year-End group audit process.
- Continuous Improvement: Work with the transactional finance team to enhance financial accounting practices and provide senior finance leadership.
- Financial Controls: Develop and evolve financial controls processes and best practices with the wider team.
Qualifications and Skills
- ICAEW Qualified Accountant: Must hold a current ICAEW qualification.
- Experience: Several years of experience in a Management Accountant or business-facing Finance Analyst role.
- Proactive and Driven: Ambitious with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to challenge financial data and drive performance.
- Leadership: Proven team player with strong leadership capabilities.
- Advanced Excel: Proficient in advanced Excel functions.
- Communication: Excellent analytical and communication skills, especially with non-finance teams.
- Prioritization: Ability to prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
